Hello, my name is Jason Travis Ott. I was born in California and raised in Iowa. I have been into the arts my whole life. I enrolled in as many art classes as permitted, all through high school.

After High School, I spent seven years trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, before I finaly realized that I wanted to "do art" for a living. So, I went to the University of Northern Iowa. Initially, I was going to get my degree in Art Education. But after the first semester, I changed my major to Graphic Design, because I figured there'd be better money in it.

I graduated in 2003 and did not hit the ground running. Graphic Design jobs in Iowa are as scarce as hen's teeth. After a year of working in a manufacturing plant, I met the woman who would become my wife on the internet, and moved to the Cincinnati area. I thought to myself, "Finally, the big city, I'll get a job here!"

Well, I have lived here for six years. I worked for a printing company for 3 of those years, as a pre-press technician. Then I collected unemployment for 2 years, and now I am working extremely part time for a local publishing company. I still collect unemployment because of how little I am making. I have had interviews here and there, but the competition is tough and I guess I just don't have the experience that other people do. It's not because of a lack of trying.

I am blessed to have a sweet supportive wife though. She keeps encouraging me to be the artist that I want to be. So, here on this website, I have gathered a few samples of my favorite work. I am in the process of creating a greater body of work, focusing for now on the themes of Sci-Fi & Fantasy. I love the genre and want to get involved with it professionally.
